From Dawn to Dusk: نور و ظلام

For this book, the concept shifted many times at the beginning, and what started as an investigation into the unique experience of Ramadan in Kuwait, became a narrative about a day guided by light and dark. As a part of the notion of Ramadan, a month that is heavily centered around the moon is where I started my photographic journey into what became my final project. In Ramadan, the split between day and night is significantly more emphasized, because once the sun sets people can break their fasts. In Kuwait, this is especially more significant because of the fact that religion is very intertwined with the government, and the timings of places revolve around Ramadan timing. I began to observe the juxtaposition between light and dark, and that is what led me to indulge in the concept From Dawn to Dusk: نور و ظلام (light & dark).
